Naliblu: a dream that started at home 🤎

Naliblu: un sueño que empezó en casa 🤎

Naliblu was not born from a business plan or the idea of simply creating a shop. It was born at home. It was born from a period of change, family conversations, and, above all, the arrival of our daughter, Gal·la, which made many things begin to be seen in a different light. I am an early childhood educator, and for years, my day-to-day life has been surrounded by children. I have been lucky enough to accompany them through one of the most beautiful stages: their first discoveries, their first achievements, and those little moments when they go from "I can't" to "Look, I did it!". I have always believed in a childhood where there is room to experiment, touch, make mistakes, try again, and learn by doing. But then came motherhood. And living childhood from the other side made everything I knew as a teacher take on a different meaning. I was no longer just observing how a child grew from the classroom. Now I was watching our own daughter grow. I began to pay even more attention to the materials that reached her hands, how she played with them, what really sparked her curiosity, and the amount of learning that could be hidden behind something apparently simple. And little by little, an idea appeared: What if we could bring all this together in one place?

And that is how Naliblu started 🌿.

We didn't want to create a shop full of things. We wanted to create the place that we ourselves would look for as a family. A space where you can find thoughtfully chosen activities, materials that invite discovery, resources that support their autonomy, and small details capable of turning certain moments of childhood into memories. And even the name had to speak about us. Naliblu carries a little piece of our family within it. It was born inspired by two inseparable companions of this adventure: our daughter Gal·la and our dog Nala 🐾. From our story, from playing with names, sounds, and ideas until we found a word that we felt was ours, Naliblu finally appeared. An invented name for a project that we were also starting to invent from scratch. And perhaps that is why we are so fond of it. Because before it was a brand, Naliblu was already a little bit of home.

We believe in a childhood that is discovered with the hands.

We like simple materials, the ones that don't do everything for them, the ones they can touch, spin, stack, observe, transform, and use in different ways depending on the moment. Because we don't always need to tell a child how they should play. Sometimes it's enough to prepare a carefully thought-out environment and give them something much more important: time and freedom to discover. That's why wood, textures, sensory materials, and open-ended activities play such a prominent role at Naliblu. We want there to be a possibility behind every object: to touch, to imagine, to experiment, to create, and to start all over again.

We believe in "I can" 🤍

There is also a phrase we love to hear: "I can." It can appear when they manage to get dressed, tidy up their toys, complete a small routine, or do for the first time something they had been trying to do for days. To us, it might seem like a small thing, but to them, it can mean so much. That's why we want to create resources that support autonomy, confidence, and motivation, without rushing and without expecting everyone to reach the same place at the same time. We don't want them to do things sooner; we want them to have opportunities to try them when they are ready.

We believe that play is also learning.

A child learns while building a tower that falls over again and again. When they discover that metal is cold and wood doesn't feel the same. When they shake something and a sound appears. When they try a solution, it doesn't work, and they look for another. For us, something wonderful happens there. That's why we don't want to fill childhood with instructions; we prefer to offer materials that spark a question: "And what would happen if…?" And let them be the ones to find the answer.

And we believe very much in magic ✨

Because not everything in childhood has to have an educational objective. We also want to leave space for what simply makes their eyes shine. Waiting for the Tooth Mouse, saying goodbye to the dummy with the help of a fairy, preparing for the arrival of the Three Wise Men, celebrating that they have grown up. Keeping a memory that, in a few years, will transport us directly to that moment. From there, another very special part of Naliblu was born: our Magic Kits and keepsakes. Little details designed to help families create their own rituals and make those stages that, almost without realising it, pass by too quickly, special.

Before creating something, we ask ourselves a question: Would we choose it for Gal·la?

That question summarises quite well how we want to build Naliblu. We want to select and create products that make sense, that contribute something, and that we ourselves would want to have at home. We aren't looking to have a huge catalogue; we prefer to grow little by little, to test, to change things, to listen, to learn, and to continue caring for every detail as we are doing now that everything has just begun.

Sowing love, autonomy, and creativity 🌱
